An oft asked question in the Forums is, “How old are Etsians?”
Well, in response to that, I began a thread specifically to collect this data from the forum thread. Then I charted the results in Flickr.
After two months of data collection from over a thousand people, the average age of the responding Etsians consistently remains at 34, with the median being 32. Each of the 22 times I’ve updated the chart, this is the result. The youngest answering is 13, with the oldest being 73. Wow! Etsy is providing the opportunity for so many to sell Handmade!

Great stats, loosewire! This is a lot of detailed work on your part. I would love to see an official Etsy demographic survey. I wonder if this median age is representative of all Etsy users too? Only forum posters were counted in the survey and I'm wondering if maybe younger people feel more comfortable with online forums. Or if younger people are more comfortable posting their age in public! :-D
