Will the finalist be chosen from all the entries or just the ones who are being voted on?

Hmmm...maybe I should reserve my comment, but I can't. I am actually really disappointed in some of the picks for some of the categories. I'm kind of sharing the same thoughts as marina75- I have seen some INCREDIBLE work out there in Etsy and I'm actually saddened they didn't make the cuts- some of the categories I can't even vote in because I don't feel they're worthy. Congratulations to those that made it, but there's a lot of super talented folks out there that didn't make it that should have.

As i voted my opinion, i truly belive that this was a fixed challenged, ETSY new from the begining who was going to make the cut, friends , super friend, family, or the ones that they realy like ,i am so dissapointed on you ETSY, you could have done much more manific, You should have let us all pick the 40 finalist not you , you are not a judge of talent. :(

I was so excited to find my little piglet in the home decor category! BUT..that being said, marina75, you have really put a huge damper on my happy dance! Last I checked..I was neither a 'friend' a 'superfriend', 'family' or ever categorized as 'the ones etsy really likes". In fact, quite the opposite. So please, bite your tongue before you rattle off from where you know not. Your comments are putting only you in a bad light. Just be happy for those who have been voted upon and have made it into the finals...I am certain that ALL of them work just as hard as those you feel 'deserve' to be here. Let it go... OK..back to happy dance and congrats to every finalist!!!

I'm about to go and vote but I think it's a shame that only US residents can win the sweepstakes. Etsy is now a multinational site in both buyers and sellers and in my humble opinion all votes should have a chance to win.

The only thing i said which again has nothing to do with you, has to do with anothere caterory, I am very happy for the ones that made it, but not talented enough to make the cut for the childrens clothing contest, but has been done, so no matter what i say or you say it will never make a difference.

marina..I understand fully which category you were speaking about.I just know that for myself, if one of my items had made it into that category and I had read your comments regarding the selections I'd be feeling pretty bad. So, you see this IS about me..and I am minding my business...the business of celebrating artists whose hard work has been honored by being chosen out of hundreds (maybe even thousands)to be a finalist in a contest selected by extremely qualified judges. Your negativity hurts the community of etsy as a whole for which I am an active member. Obviously, by your comments initially, with 'here we go again'..you must have already had a round or two with others here..so I'll bow out gracefully..YOU are entitled to free speech as am I.

I thought the voters were going to be able to be the ones to narrow the contestants down not Etsy. I'm a little disappointed I have to say...not that the people who were chosen aren't great and congratulations to them...but there are so many more I wanted to acknowledge with my vote and so many types of products (particularly in the accessories categories) that aren't represented by the pool of 40 (like bows and blankets...). I guess I didn't read the "rules" closely enough...

Thanks for having this contest, etsy admin. Even having an entry viewed is a great opportunity! I looked at all the entries in my two categories and saw so many great shops that I'd never seen before. I have a piece in the furniture category, I believe that the furniture category never made it to forty entries.

Could someone please explain why when I click on "view all contest entries" only the ones we are allowed to vote on show up. I know of several items that were entered in the contest that didn't make it to the finals (including one of my own.) Shouldn't we show up as contest entries anyway? I followed all of the rules required for entering including only one item tagged as kidconclothing and it was tagged before the due date. I'm not being a sore loser...I would just like to see for certain that my item was included in their decision-making. Congratulations to all of the finalists. I voted, and it truly was a tough decision in every category.

Have you tried putting the tag (kidconclothing, etc...) in the search box? I thought the same thing but I guess it is just to view all of the entries that were chosen. As long as the artists have not deleted the tag it should still show you who entered.

Will the expert board also pick one winner from each category?

Wow..a lot of people voted! So nice to see. The winners for each category are truly deserving ....even some of my favorites I voted on actually won their category. I don't envy the judges at this point as it was a really difficult decision just for me when voting. And madteapartyfurniture..congrats on the 2nd most votes..I am really surprised you didn't win that category..but the winner was a great choice too! Congrats to all who were finalists and those who made it to the top!

I cannot believe how talented these kids are. I have to show this competition to my daughter...she will be so inspired by all of you! She's always talking about things she "can make to sell on etsy"
