I am unable to open the page to vote. I get 2 errors, one stating that I might be behind a firewall, though the test says I'm not, the other says it's meditating. I will report this in bugs as well.

I love holiday stockings and the anti-slavery and spiritual meaning behind them. The original Santa - St. Nicholas of Myra (Turkey today) didn't want to see 1 sister have to see her other sister sell herself into slavery so the younger would have $ for food and a better life. To stop this, St. Nick he dropped coins through a window or chimney and they fell into the girls' stockings that were hanging to dry. In the end, both sisters were allowed to live a life of freedom= b/c of his act.

While I enjoy adding input to the many choices here on etsy I always seem to have a difficult time looking at the results for those that did not receive many votes or none at all even. I think this would make that person feel really bad and they would question their own creativeness. I know, I am most likely just hyper-sensitive by nature but I don't want anyone to ever feel bad about popularity or being liked...I hope those who have been selected to take part in these contests will realize that it truly is an honor to have been chosen out of the many great options on etsy. Heck..even for those who did not get chosen..feeling somewhat bad has to be a part of it all....My luck to everyone and hope that each entry will get at least one vote!

This year at our house I'm just filling stockings for the kids and we're buying coats, food and personal items to donate to the Salvation Army in place of presents normally given. The kids don't mind tho...cause as they've gotten older the stockings have become their favorite part!

All the stockings were so beautiful, so I hope the result is close. Thank you for jogging my memory - we have a new granddaughter born on 28 October and I have to get cracking making her a Christmas Stocking. I put all the grandchildren's names on their stockings and am trying to figure out how I will fit Anastasia on without running into the seams!

Last year I worked a craft show across from Spongetta/Betsy and the stocking I wanted was the first one that sold, her fabrics are so pretty! Now that you reminded me I'll hopefully get one this year!

Wow, I just tried a search for stockings on Etsy. There are not enough "NOTS" in the world for me to get more that 2 per search page and give up. So sad.

Oh so very true unencumbered!!! I actually did the same search and was so put off by it that I gave up after a few pages..forget about even being able to find my OWN stockings that are listed...How frustrating it will be for a potential buyer!

My mother made me a fun stocking when I was born. It is a very thickly quilted stocking in the shape on a teddy bear! Shw wanted to get all new cross stiched stocking for everyone so they would match... but I insisted on keeping my teddy bear. Now 27 years later, everyone has their cross stiched matching one....and my teddy still hangs!
