This week, Etsy How-Tuesday helps you get organized for the New Year with Etsy admin Julie aka YourSecretAdmiral / julieincharge. Julie shows you how to make a weekly planner, which you an give as a handmade stocking stuffer or keep for all that organizing you’ll be doing in the New Year. You can use your own design or download our pdf template.
Materials Needed:
- Exacto Knife
- Bone Folding Tool
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Paper
- PDF template
Steps for Making the Planner:
- Print out your image or the template on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of paper.
- Cut out the template (around the border).
- Fold the paper:
- Fold in half length-wise.
- Fold in half width-wise (the other way).
- Fold in half the same way a second time.
- Make a horizontal cut along the center two pages of the book.
- Fold and crease the book.
Here’s a special Bonus video from littlebrownpen, who makes calendars and planners!

Thanks for the cute planner! I've already printed one off and it looks great. I've also done some blank ones for the kids to draw in. Fit several in one of those mini cereal boxes, too. : )

I decided to be ahead of it all. I actually condensed most of my notes. Organized them into two tabbed spiral notebooks (I have two shops now, one notebook for each!). I have it all laid out, my plan of attack for 2009 right there. I even dusted off the computer, and desk! Great weekly planner...very cute. I do a to-do list in a mini notebook. Thanks for the push to get it together!

I took your idea and made them into mini catalogues for my Etsy shop. So now when people ask me what I make I can show them. It's a little smaller than a business card.
