We are a unique resource for creative, crafty, thoughtful, modern women planning their weddings or just their lives. We love projects, photography, details, and of course everything handmade! Supporting independent designers, artisans and vendors borders on obsession for us, and we’re super excited to share some of our finds here.

One of our very favorite features of our blog is our inspiration binder. We’re so into creating color boards based on unexpected palettes and interesting moods and themes. They’ve become so popular with our readers we thought we’d share a new one here, and then search for things we’d use if we were planning a wedding (or party) based on this board.

We love the bright, vintagey colors of this palette and the modern French sensibility that it evokes.

Carnival Party

First we start with the dress. We love this one by Ouma. Sometimes the bride needs to totally toss tradition and just wear what she wants. If she’s the right kind of girl, stripes and tulle would be perfect! Plus she could probably wear it again. Maybe. Which would be nice. $168.

Happiness Headband

You’d think we’d have tired of the headband craze and this point, but no: we still love them. This one by ciaraobscura (in its aqua and poppy glory) caught our eye. It’s probably not for the bride in her black dress, but possibly perfect for a bevy of maids or a pair of flower girls. $36.

Perhaps for escort cards? These could be pretty cute hung from a line through a garden. Digitalpaperie has TONS of cute tags and graphics to mix and match. $4.75.

Fieldandsea has a great shop with tons of pretty paper products. Fill these guys with something tasty and decorate your place settings, or even add a handmade label and use them for seating assignments. $5.

…Or even tie up the little boxes with red and white twine: pattern on pattern is always fun! We love Etsy for its handmade market, but it’s also such a good resource for craft supplies. Angelaliguori has some good stuff. $16.

We are always in awe of really good calligraphy, and we love that Etsy has become a place for brides to find so many talented artists. You can find every single style in the marketplace, but for this particular theme, we’d go for this classic look form Della Carta Studio. By dellacarta, $4.50.

We can’t resist posting a few vintage finds as well. There are so many carefully curated shops on Etsy that it’s impossible not to find yourself lost among the vases, jars and linens (as well as the supplies). We’d wrap the bride’s bouquet in a pretty length of this handmade vintage lace. It almost has an heirloom quality about it — it’s so hard to resist. From VintageMarketPlace, $5.
