Those of us lucky enough to be born under the sign of Gemini (May 20 through June 21) are mercurial, quick-witted, sharped-tongued charmers. (At least according to those Aquarians, Sagittarians, and Libras who love us.) Others might claim that the Twins are lying, two-faced, gossiping Jekyll and Hydes…but they’re probably no fun at a party!
Adaptable and loquacious Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury and is known as the communicator of the zodiac. Duality and dichotomy characterize the Twins, and for some of us, balancing our dual nature and desires is a constant struggle. At once sensitive and nervous yet outgoing, chatty and sociable, we are complex creatures! I’ve spent most of my life wrestling with my twin selves and in the process have learned a few things about what it means to be a Gemini.
An Air sign associated with butterflies, monkeys and other social animals, our flower is the Lily of the Valley and our color is yellow. Gemini represents the arms and appropriately, the nervous system. We skilled multi-taskers are never boring, but can be fickle and lack follow-through (for example, it took me forever to get around to finishing this article—wait, is that a shiny object?!). Geminis are young at heart and blessed with a youthful baby-faced appearance even into our later years…sweet!
