UPDATE: The application process for our second Etsy Seller Community Council is now closed; we’ll announce the new members in about two weeks. Thank you to everyone who applied for the first Community Council and for this one!
The Etsy Seller Community Council is a group of members who volunteer to meet with Etsy Admin at least once a month for a period of six months to discuss marketplace enhancements and community offerings. The meetings are held in the Virtual Lab and ongoing communications are facilitated through Google Groups.
We want you to get involved! We are opening up the applications for our Second Community Council today. If you applied for the first round but weren’t picked, not to worry. We’ll be including those applicants in addition to new ones in the selection process.
Thanks to everyone who applied!
As we did with the first round, we will be selecting the next set of 25 artists by choosing a diverse group of sellers who cover a wide range of success, history, and geography. We will not have access to usernames when going through the selection process. Once selected, we contact each member to confirm that they are still interested.
A huge thank you goes out to the members of our First Community Council, whose tenure just ended! We learned so much from these members and are grateful for the insightful and honest feedback they provided. They’re a talented group too! See the items below for some of their work.

I'm glad to know that the Community Council is still active. Thanks for the heads-up, admin. And thanks to all those who served on the first-ever Etsy CC! May I make a couple of suggestions? At the end of each term, it would be great to have a published synopsis of what the Council has discussed/accomplished/tested/etc. (those things that have the all-clear to be divulged, of course). Also, for future Council selection, it might be a good idea to start the application process in advance of the term end, and have the new council settled on by the time the previous CC is retired. That way, the new CC can be announced and ushered in as the old one steps down, thereby avoiding any gaps in council coverage. Thanks again!

I was just reading the information on this, what a great idea for the community. I couldn't find any results of what was decided or discussed during the first term, I've probably missed it somewhere on Etsy so it would be wonderful to have an update. I second (or third) the suggestion that squeaky wheels, if they apply, be considered as well because being a customer who complains frequently, I know I do it because I love this site. And so I understand that when sellers criticise, they do it because they want this site to improve and fulfil its enormous potential.

Thank you, Etsy, for having this. And I second GreenMamba's suggestions. It would be great to have such a synopsis shared with the community at-large. Yes please, I applied for the first council and considered applying for second, but as a vintage seller I didn't know if we were invited to participate. Also a heads up on what the 1st CC has done or achieved or decided or discovered would be great. I'd love to take part in something that actually helps steer a good site towards greatness. However this IS my DayJob and obviously, I would rather spend my time on other business ventures if CC is more of a social group.

I know I'm too late to apply for the second council, but I have a question. I'm wondering if Etsy would ever ask the SAssy Street Team about the questions/feedback we get from sellers/buyers? I know the staff often refers people to the team to ask questions. Some of the questions I get may be useful for the Etsy staff in terms of site usability, etc.
