A Holiday Gift Guide With Cup of Jo

This year, she and her husband welcomed a baby boy named Toby into the world (and their teeny Manhattan apartment), and they can’t wait to celebrate their first family Christmas. Here, Joanna shares her gift guides for both mama and baby.

My baby Toby will be (exactly) seven months on Christmas day, and I’m so excited to put together his very first stocking! Since becoming a mom, I’ve realized that Etsy has an insane number of amazing children’s shops with natural, eco-friendly, handmade gifts. I’ve been thrilled to discover them. I can’t wait to give Toby some special treats and watch as he tries to eat them (his ultimate stamp of approval). As for me, I’m crossing my fingers for a few pretty things to make me feel like a chic grown-up, even though I talk in sing-song most of the day! Merry Christmas, everybody!

    Love love love this post! Thank you for sharing Joanna. I'm a 1st time Mom too and baby Sahara is 9 months old already. Loving the shea butter soap, the brownies, the onesie, the towel, the teether, the baby unisex sweater. Superb finds! As for me, nope, no growing up, lol, if anything I feel like a kid playing with a baby, hahaha and now i get to watch cartoons more often and I sing out everything all day long and I get to crawl on all fours.     I do most of my selling at art shows, which allows me to chat with my customers and hear what they're thinking about when they buy my stuff. Two things they love to buy that babies or children and their parents both enjoy are books and artwork. Parents get really excited when they can find a book they'll enjoy reading with their child or a fabulous piece of art that they enjoy seeing just as much as the little ones do. Some parents are happy to buy the latest DIsney princess poster, but there are lots of us out there who would rather see something interesting, funky, whimsical, imaginative and unique on the wall every time we tuck our children in! (P.S. I love the fox!)

We are going to start a new tradition of putting up the Christmas tree every year on her birthday. She of course will put the star on the top...being the "star of the day" and all. :)
