Pugs, and dachshunds, and kittens, oh my! I’m please to announce that Cindy Steiler, a.k.a. marysgranddaughter, will be joining us all the way from Gainesville, Florida for Craft Night on Monday, December 13. She’ll share the ins-and-outs of embroidering custom pet portraits. Please bring an image of your pet, or a friend’s pet, or whatever critter you would like to pay tribute to, in the form of a black & white photocopy. (We also have a photocopier here, if needed.) The image will need to be smaller than 6″, as that is the size embroidery hoop we will be working with. The project makes a spot-on handmade gift for a pet-loving pal!
A big thank you goes out to Coats & Clark, for donating materials for this Craft Night.
Aside from stitching and drawing beautiful artwork for her Etsy shop, Cindy Steiler is also the author of the booklet, Pet Portrait Embroidery, which is one of twelve booklets contained in the set, Craft-In: 12 Projects for Your Own Crafty Gatherings, edited by Kathleen McCafferty. These little volumes are aimed at those of you who are looking to start your own craft night or host a creative get-together, but are in need of some good group project ideas. (You can watch a brief video about Craft-In here.)
