Pawesome was launched nine months ago by two best friends with one very big obsession: pets. As pet cohabitants and owners the majority of their lives, both Sarah Han and Sonia Zjawinski have a lot to say when it comes to the topic of companion animals. Pawesome’s daily posts inform readers on how to be responsible pet parents, while spotlighting those doing inspiring work helping animals, working with them, or creating beautiful things to spoil or honor them. Oh, and there’s the occasional cute kitten photo (okay, more than occasional) and adorable animal video.
We often find ourselves browsing Etsy for new pet products to feature on Pawesome. We’re suckers for anything unique and handmade, so you can only imagine how excited we get when you add pet themed products to the mix. Here’s a collection of some of our favorite Etsy finds, for pets and those who love them.
For Pets
Dog collars are a requirement when you own a pup, but you don’t have to stick to the old guard. Pecanpiepuppies’ adorable Yellow Dahlia Custom Dog Collar lets you doll up your doggle without going overboard.
Like collars, leashes are a must, especially if you walk your dog through busy neighborhoods. It's too bad that my malamute would eat it in a heartbeat (she's eaten every bed that I have gotten for her- even the tough ones, and when she sleeps, she sleeps on the floor, despite the bed... Even on really hard surfaces- she chose to sleep on concrete vs. carpet- and she sleeps on her back- so adorable.... So no bed for her. It was a different story with my other dogs however...

Pawesome is awesome! Love the rescue pets poster. Even if you can't keep a pet, it's not that much work to trap a stray cat or two & get them spayed/neutered at a local low-cost animal clinic. Lots of these organizations have large grants for their feral cat funds and will perform the service for free if you ask. Trap & Release seriously helps reduce the unwanted/feral cat population. Consider volunteering at your animal shelter or fostering kittens. It's so rewarding.
