My family has a host of traditions that we will probably stubbornly stick to for all time. As kids, my brother and I would place a handmade sign that read “Happy Mother’s Day!” every year at the bottom of the stairs for our mom to find when she wandered down for a homemade Mother’s Day breakfast feast, to open a few handmade gifts and cards, and peer out the window at the rosebush my dad had planted for the yearly event. We also happened to use that very same Mother’s Day sign for every Father’s Day and birthday as well, as these occasions are only a few letters apart. While this foamcore and magic marker number is more than a tad rough around the edges and a bit silly, it is a piece of our family history that makes me smile.
I hope that you’ll find inspiration for your own Mother’s Day traditions and craft projects in this how-to round-up!

This is wonderful, even though my mother has passed I still have the first ornament I made from flour, water and sequins. It's now in a plastic bag because it's almost 50 years old and humidity has began to work on it a little. Nothing more precious than "handmade" for Mom....TY for these lovely pick's!
