One more thing: if we all do one little thing, it adds up making a difference. If we rethink what we NEED and what we WANT and align those two, there is always a solution. The price is always something one can think about and see if he/she wants to invest in someone's labor, rewarding that person for saving the environment, and feeling good about him/herself for making a difference. My son once said (Pav, he was 6 at the time), when he saw trash around the school "Mom, the Earth must be sad now" pointing toward aluminum cans scattered around. Buying an item that has been upcycled definitely makes Earth a bit happier.

Ooooh I LOVE Mimi's dolls! What personality! It really is important to think long and hard before you throw something away. I'm sure most of us are doing things like donating clothes to Goodwill, but what about the ratty clothes that are stained or otherwise not fit for donation? I cut up old t-shirts to use as diaper-cream barriers for cloth diapers. Think of all the fabric you can get out of an old set of sheets!

Officially obsessed with these practical, and oh-so-adorable totes! How fun to be able to tell people they are made from recycled sailboat sails! The graphics are great, but I think the letters and numbers are clever and fun. If you can't make art from recycled items do what you can in your home/studio...recycle paper, change your light bulbs to CFLs, reuse packaging materials...just to name a few. Every little bit makes a difference...mother nature says thank you!

I had previously made the switch to handmade soap, and bought a bunch at once from DirtyLovesClean on etsy.She even used old magazine pages to wrap the soaps,instead of new packaging.Im a total believer now in handmade soap. So for earth day I decided to cut back on packaging even further,by switching over to shampoo bars from Lush.Its so much nicer!
