Come get your craft on in California to mark the start of September! On Thursday, September 1, there are two hands-on happenings, at two craft museums, hosted by two friends of Etsy: Craft Night at the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles and Craft Bar at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco. Read on for all the ins and outs.

Brooklynites, take note: On Monday, August 29, we have a special Craft Night party with Brett Bara running from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Etsy Labs.

DIY Glass Magnet Kit by thecraftcaravan

TV personality, author, and designer extraordinaire Mark Montano is back for another night of crafting! Bring your friends and join Mark to make a set of decoupage magnets. Those of you brave enough to take the Gallery Quiz will also be entered into a drawing to win goody bags provided by Eco Green Crafts. Signed copies of Mark’s books, Pulp Fiction — Perfect Paper Projects and The Big-Ass Book of Home Décor, will also be on sale in the Museum Shop. $5 admission includes materials, drinks, snacks, and as much fun as you can handle. September’s Craft Bar is sure to delight the fashionable set! Join us in welcoming back local favorites Britex Fabrics, whose stylish staff will teach you how to make your very own pair of spats. Choose from beautiful fabrics provided by Britex, learn the basics of hand sewing and construction, and get inspiration from the Museum’s gallery. After this Craft Bar, you’ll be ready to strut through town looking lovelier than ever in handmade spats.

$5 includes admission, tips, and tricks. Drinks will be kindly provided by local (and MOCFA) favorite Trumer Pils.
