This weekend’s Get the Look Decor is inspired by the Sydney, Australia home of Vivian Mansour. What started as a plan to create a beautiful and cozy home for her three-year-old son Robert evolved into a passion for interior design and decoration. She also started a blog, Ish & Chi, to share her love for decorating and fashion.
Describe your home decorating style.
It has been described by a friend as contemporary and feminine.
Did you decide to decorate in this style or was there an evolution to your decorating process?
I tend not to stick to one decorating style for my home; I simply buy pieces that I love — although lately I have been wanting to give my home more of a Palm Springs feel. I may be secretly wishing for a holiday!
What inspires you when it comes to decorating?
I am an interior design student and have just started to take on “real life” projects. When I am putting together a mood board, I can be inspired by everything and anything. I am always on the lookout for interesting objects that might kick off an idea. Lately I have been collecting images of Sydney street art for inspiration.
What is your favorite part about your home?
My son’s room. It was the first room I decorated in the house and it holds many memories.
Does your home hold any strong memories?
Absolutely! From the day I first walked into the house after I purchased it (sight unseen!), to bringing my son home from the hospital, to having friends over for long dinners and a chat, there are so many beautiful memories here.
