Those decorative candles are fine to have and see, but they usually dont do well when burning and melting is often uneven and if not property burnt on a flame proof base, could start a fire. I now only use candles that are glass covered / glass shield/ and metal candle holders with drip catchers wide enough to hold a lot of wax. Otherwise they can flow over and start a fire if the wick floats off. Only contained candles for us ! No open flames.
