Thanksgiving is just days away, and I invite you take a break from the whirlwind of madness that the holidays can bring. Take a moment to reflect on what makes you feel most grateful, and just hang out and flex your mad making muscles at this Monday’s Open Craft Night at the Etsy Labs in Brooklyn, NY. Swing by to work on a project of your choosing, perhaps sculpt a tiny pumpkin pie or knit fingerless gloves? No formal instruction will be given, though you are welcome and encouraged to peruse our collection of art and craft books for inspiration, make use of our equipment and spare materials, and confer with one another to share craft advice and brainstorm ideas.
This is a great time to finish languishing projects, expand on new skills learned at past Craft Nights, or experiment with something totally different. You are welcome to use our BERNINA 350PE sewing machines, paper cutters, yarn, needles, paper, paint, fabric, basic supplies galore, and a free Magnolia Photo Booth. Come on by for a playful evening of meeting and making!
Where: 55 Washington Street, Suite 712 (7th floor) Brooklyn, New York, 11201
When: Monday, November 21. Drop in between 4-8 p.m. (Clean-up starts at 7:45.)
RSVP here.
Upcoming Events with the Etsy Labs:
11/17: Church of Craft Meeting
11/18: Radical Craft Night in Santa Cruz, CA
11/28: Stenciling Craft Night at Powerhouse Books With Ed Roth
12/1: Craft Night in LA & Craft Bar in SF

I felt the same so I organized a Local Craft Night myself! I invited all the local Etsy shop owners, advertised in the community and posted on my FB page. Last night was our first event- it took a couple weeks of cutting out fabric circles, punching paper and emailing everybody I could think of, but it was well worth it!!! I met some really great people and loved watching people learn a new craft, especially the children, and the door prizes brought a lot of smiles also (thanks to the generous donations from our Etsy shop owners!!). Looking forward to our next event in December!!!!

Sounds like a great way to network. I miss going to as many of the local crafts shows as much as I used to. The economy has driven their fees too high for me to participate in them.

Sounds like great fun and a perfect occasion to chat and get to know some of the people who's work I've seen here....IF ONLY IT WAS IN PRAGUE! So, so, far away from NYC... :.o( Do you ever plan any 'on the road' craft workshops?? Yes, perhaps I am dreaming to much here!

I'm new to Etsy...just openned my shop today! Is there an Etsy community in Vermont? in the Montpelier area? If so craft night sounds like a great idea especially here in rural Vermont.
