“I had a lot of dates but I decided to stay home and dye my eyebrows.” — Andy Warhol
This week’s edition of News From the Craft + Style Blogosphere has pink space dust, cozy homes and appetizing food, paint-swathed bodies, and delicate needlework illustration.
To be a part of Boo Ritson’s artistic process is to admit an affinity for a full-body mask. By applying a full coat of paint to clothed subjects, Ritson creates a new, muted version of reality (where people sweat like candles). [Via Beautiful Decay]
Did you know that NASA shares a wealth of space photos in their Flickr stream? (If you love space, this is your Xanadu.) I was particularly enamored of the “NASA Goes Pink” set, a collection of supernovas, moons and other pink space phenomena that was curated in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Sous Style is the dark horse of interior and food blogs: interesting, appetizing and still approachable. (That is, I’m not left feeling despondent that my meal/home/life will never look that good.) Conceived by editor Pippa Lord, the site is full of tasty lookin’ food, well-conceived homes (that are sometimes messy or cluttered) and cute people. The manifesto of Sous Style reads: “For a new generation of homemakers. We make mistakes, spill things, add too much salt, and sometimes eat on the run. We don’t know all the answers, but we’re curious to find out. We believe in the ‘imperfect perfect.’” I could get used to this. [Via Wolf Eyebrows]
