Fifty People, One Question is a simple project: the crew goes to a city, asks fifty people the same question and films their responses. The results are funny, moving and sometimes tear-inducing.
The crew recently visited Chicago, Illinois, asking the question: “What’s your favorite memory?”
These are the results.
See more on Fifty People, One Question’s YouTube channel.
So what’s your favorite memory? Post it in the comments below.

Beautifully put together. Thank you for making my Sunday all the more beautiful. My favorite memory? I, too, have a lifetime to reflect upon. I think one that comes to mind is when I was five years old. My mother was in the hospital so I walked over to my friend's house. She showed me her dog who had puppies. Diane, asked if I wanted one. Of course! I remember picking a small black and tan squirmy love. I didn't ask for parental permission, I simply walked home with her. I don't think my father stood a chance looking into both of our eyes. I named her Happy because that is what she made me. To this day, I refer to her as my HAPPY thoughts.

The first thing that comes to mind when I remember favorite memories was when I was about 7. My mother worked long hours but occassionally she came home before dark. She would bathe my brother & I, put us in our cotton pajamas and take us to the Burger Shack. On the way, we rode with the windows down and the warm air blew in. There was no stress & we enjoyed each other's company. So, to this day, during the spring & summer months, when I take an early shower & put on something comfortable & walk outside near dusk, I remember the rides to the Burger Shack. Thank you for taking me back.

My favorite and most sweetest memory is the first time I went to the beach. I grew up on the east coast,in the city, where the houses are joined together wall to wall. It was all I had ever known. We went to the State Beach and I remember all I could see was beautiful sand and blue sky and water. It was the largest outdoor space I'd ever been in, and it seemed to go on forever. I was pre-school age, about 5 maybe, and it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen in my short little life. To this day, the beach is my refuge, I go there when my mind is overloaded. After about 45 minutes, I usually feel myself take this long deep breath, and I seem to blow out all the tension when I exhale!

I really enjoyed watching this, Thanks! :D One of my favorite memories is when I went to sugar loaf mountain in Michigan, with my family when I was a kid. We took a long hike down this trail, that as you got closer to the lake; the large rocks became smaller and smaller and the beach was full of tiny, tiny pebbles. In the water were these large flat rocks and I waded out to one and laid down and looked up at the sky, it was bright blue with large fluffy clouds floating by. What a magical day.

Hi! i have a lot of beautiful memories and is difficult to choose one, but i´ll do it for you :) My favorite memory is when I was a kid. My brothers and I lived in a house near some ruins in Amorebieta (Spain). We called those ruins "The Castle". On summer nights we used to see the stars and when the moon was full we ran across the fields laughing and making up stories. I can still feel the warm wind and the moonlight making strange shadows on the trees. May the bohemian spirit be with you!

My favorite memory is when I smell the ocean on a November morning driving towards MIami Beach Florida. It's different in that I know winter is coming and it's so fresh to the senses coming from the city. Every year reinforces that same memory of the ocean smell.

This is terrific! One of my favorite memories is from a Chicago vacation a few years ago with my teenage son and my sweet husband. We're from Florida and we made the trip in late summer, we had been melting a little eachc day in the Florida heat and humidity. Chicago was having a cool front at this time and we thought we must be in Heaven, it was brisk, fresh, cool, and we had the time of our lives. We all three have romanticized and dreamed of Chicago ever since, having made such sweet memories for us.

Wonderful idea! Watching this made me feel that asking strangers this question and having all of us listen to their answers makes us part of the human experience. One of my most favorite memories was attending a James Taylor concert at Tanglewood in August of '09. So many fun events that night...the pouring rain that everyone was desperate to get out of by setting up tents on the lawn...the amazing show that James Taylor put on and so many more fun things that night. It was just an amazing time. And the best part? I shared it with my husband. I just felt that we were the only two people in the world sharing those laughs with him that night (even though we were part of a very large audience). I think another great question to put to people would be: what is your most embarassing moment? Another: what was your most humbling moment? Another great article that makes you stop and think and appreciate the joys of life.

My favorite memory is one winter evening when I was a kid. I walked with my dad to visit my grandmother living in a villege some 5 kilometers away from the town where we lived (my parents din't have a car in that time). As we walked it started to snow heavily and the wind was piercing and icy cold. But what I remember the most is that I felt absolutely safe. Though it was dark and cold, my dad was holding my hand and I knew it was going to be all right. When we arrived, my grandma was waiting with a pot of hot tea. And believe me, it was the greatest tea I have ever drunk!

How wonderful! My favorite memory was a night where my boyfriend had me put on a gorgeous dress he got me. Gave me a dozen roses, brought me to his house and surprised me with a wonderful dinner. Another dozen roses. Then he gave me a locket, so that even when were not together, he can be with me. I have never felt so loved in my life.

What a wonderful project! A favorite memory that I recall often is the feeling of waking up on the first day of summer vacation as a young child. That combination of warm air coming in through the window, sun shining in, the smell of cut grass, and the realization that I had three months of nearly infinite possibilities ahead of me. @TheWiredGoat, I found your story especially touching.

it may be a simple project, but this reminds me of why it's so great to be a human being (it's so easy to forget). i'm not normally so decisive, but my favorite memory is definitely at age four when my mom gave birth to my sister. it was a home birth, so i was able to witness the entire event. i still clearly remember my sister's first cry. and now here we are, 25 years later, the co-owners of mates + rubbish!

this is awesome. the first one that came to mind was when i was 13 I went to not back to school camp in Oregon. a few memories from this are at the end of the camp we went to the coast and the oregon coast has these tall cliff islands just yards away from the coast. A group of us climbed up one and down the other side where the waves were crashing up against the rocks to where the water was spraying us but to where the tide didn't carry me away. Another one was these two older girls befriended me and we swam up this river where the sides and bottom where lined with smooth boulders and the water was still and cold and 1/2 mile down the river one of the boulders was sticking up out of the water maybe 4 inches in the middle of the river and there were maybe 50 raspberries laying on the rock and the girls told me fairies had put the raspberries there and we ate them.

Very cool. I have so many awesome memories, I couldn't possibly pick a favorite, but I'll tell you about one time that comes to mind. I was living in London, in a very international house. We had a fire pit in the backyard that we dug ourselves. We had a lot of parties. This particular party went on for three days and there was at one time about 60 people there from all over the world. One night after the fire was dying down around 3am, a bunch of us - from 13 different countries - were gathered around the kitchen. Wonderwall - the Oasis song - came on the radio and we were all singing together with out drinks at the top of our lungs... I'll never forget that moment because it just goes to show how much the same we all can be no matter where we come from.

Um yea this was great! Made my day too : ) Chante' from So. Cal and my favorite memory is owning a vintage clothing store with my older brosef John. He loved music. We had different tastes, completely! He would play Steely Dan and I hated Steely Dan. It went from that Wu-Tang Clan. All on LP's. Lets just say we only had 4 records and so I was forced to love Steely Dan and Wu-Tang. In loving memory of my soul mate John. This is great reading all the memories!

I became so emotional watching this video! I was born and raised in Chicago, so for me, every single good memory happened there. I have a story for every street, going to the fireside for shows, on the train, by the lake, downtown, Humboldt Park, north side and south side. Playing jacks on the street in Pilsen when I was little and stay with my grandmother. Playing as a kid in Little Village in the fire hydrants soaking the street. I am living in Los Angelels temporarily for graduate school and am so homesick. Chicago is one the the most beautiful places I've ever known and I miss it more than anything. My family, my roots everything began there.

My mom and dad are both so creative and they always made every occasion really special for my sister and me. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Birthdays...Halloween was always fun and my parents went all out to make it special for all of the kids that came by trick or treating. I think that is why I love Halloween and autumn so much. It was a family thing and I treasure those memories. Thanks so much for sharing this video!!! :)

Now his hair has got some grey on it, we have been married for 11 years, he is still gorgeous..and I love that song... and him :)

My grandparent immigrated to the U.S. about 50 years ago and worked hard, so I could have a better life. So many wonderful memories, but this one stands out to me as one of the sweetest. Our son was born with mutiple handicaps 22 years ago. We had a terrible time feeding him. When he was four (our wonderful daughter was 6) we went to a Christmas tree farm. It was very cold and snowy. After getting our tree the owner's wife gave us peanutbutter cookies and hot chocolate. There we all sat, outside in the snow, eating our cookies, and my son, the one who barely ate anything, was eating his little cookies. My heart was, well, I can't even describe it. Maybe other moms of handicapped children would understand. It was a beautiful thing.
