Etsy Teams & West Elm Handmade Holiday Workshop

cheynesews

On Thursday, December 1, Etsy joined with West Elm to host a very special handmade holiday event in each of their 37 store locations. To complement a mini-market of Etsy sellers, each location offered a hands-on craft with beautiful paper ornaments, colorful stamps, and pretty pens. Behind each craft table was a supportive Etsy Team, like the 5 Boroughs Team,  pictured above, to help with the project steps and encourage attendees’ individual creativity.

We are so honored and thankful for the help of local teams on this special night, as well as their continued dedication to their communities. The craft and entire event was a hit, but you don’t have to take our word for it — just check out the blog posts and photos from the fantastic teams involved!

“Etsy and West Elm also held a handmade workshop for making origami ornaments, led by the talented ladies from Crown Town Handmade and Queen City Crafters. All the handmade ornaments turned out wonderfully and looked perfect on the tree, which was donated to Elon Homes and Schools for Children.” — Melongings

“We decorated a tree for the Bethesda Project, a nonprofit that serves the chronically homeless. The event had a tremendous turnout, and it was so exciting to see each ornament form, knowing that the tree would be so much more beautiful with each addition. We hope that the folks at the Bethesda Project love it as much as we do.” — HandmadePhilly

“We had a blast! So many people had a great time putting these ornaments together, and folding them made them smile!” — North Florida Craft Revolution

“All in all, it was a great event, and I think everyone left with smiles on their faces and a bit of ink on their hands. Can’t wait to meet more of our local artists and crafters at the next event!” — Etsy Artisans of San Diego

“We were so excited to be able to bring crafting to a group of new people.” — Handmade Miami

“This is a reminder for everyone: go out and do something new! It’s the holiday season; find an event, donate to a charity, support your local artists, and make something, even if you don’t consider yourself creative!”  — East Bay Arts Collective
