Jenny Batt is a decorations designer, editor of Hank + Hunt, and a DIY maven who rejoices in every last drop of sunshine she can find in Seattle, Washington. She’s been to Reno and back with her husband, with two boys, Henry and Hunter, to show for it. She used to be a financial accountant, but ever since those two came along, she realized that every single day is worth celebrating, so she’s been doing just that. She has the crazy idea that homemade parties are better for the heart. 

Summer is on our doorstep: are you ready? Backyard bashes abound in our sunny season, and I am ready to bust out the BBQ, kick up some polished tootsies and party. Entertaining should be simple and effortless – it shouldn’t be complicated. Pick one or more of the following entertaining styles and get ready to enjoy yourself.  I’m putting together my go-to stashes now to get ready for summer!

Warming trends in the weather lead straight to summer. Keep your party poppin’ with brights. Add a few of these neon colors to your fête and it will instantly scream summer.

Simple, easy, a little vintage and all outdoor. Bring these lovelies to your next backyard BBQ or on the big  summer camping adventure. Yes, I just said you should bring this cake stand camping, and I am completely serious — it’s 100% portable. I would do it — and I will!
