Halloween Costumes for a Crowd

Casey Keasler spent her first 20 years growing up in Tennessee. Summers were enjoyed picking berries, drinking sweet tea and making clothes with her mom. After college, she headed west and worked for architecture firms in Colorado with dreams of someday starting her own studio. She now calls Portland, Oregon, home. There she splits time at her own interior design studio, K.I.D. Studio, and also heads up the special projects division at Tanner Goods, where she makes leather accessories.

Halloween is a favorite holiday of mine. Not only is it fall, it’s the one night of the year everyone is encouraged to act like a kid. Dressing up, consuming things that are normally considered bad for you, and staying out late are the hallmark of this day. My favorite evenings of years past were when a large group of friends dressed as a cast of characters. A few nights before celebrating, we all get together to make our costumes and get excited for the fun to come.

Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction is a quintessential 1990s film: stylized, eclectic and ironic with its humor and violence. Think next level mobsters.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Need something a little lighter? Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox might be just for you. No detail is overlooked in this stop-motion animated film; your costume should reflect the same.

The Muppets

A childhood favorite. The Muppets have something for everyone.

Roy Lichtenstein

Forget the boys this year and dress as a Roy Lichtenstein character with a bunch of your best girl friends. Study up on Pop Art, do each other’s make up and spend a night out on the town together.
