We’re teaming up with the DUMBO Improvement District to bring you Hands-On: DUMBO. Join us from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, to explore this unique Brooklyn neighborhood and take part in craft projects hosted by seven local businesses.
The fun starts at the Archway, with music from DJ Colleen Crumbcake, photos at our Magnolia Photo Booth, a pinprick card project led by Etsy staff, and Hands-On: DUMBO maps listing the locations of all the evening’s crafting festivities.
And festivities there will be! At the Brooklyn Roasting Company, learn how to turn a coffee can into a DIY ice cream maker. Take a trip into the colorful world of Dewey’s Candy store and make a button with retro candy wrappers with Michele Boudreaux of mihow. Personalize a sweat band, and perfect your boxing and jump rope moves with the trainers at the famous Gleason’s Gym. Swing by Neighborhoodies to make hand-sewn patch. Spend some time at One Girl Cookies and learn a marbling cookie decorating technique. Visit Pomme to create an animal mask with Anna Donado of goose grease. And stop by Recycle-A-Bicycle to make your own rubber tire pouch from this How-Tuesday post! For more info on all of these DUMBO spots and other ways to enjoy the neighborhood, click here.
