How Sweet It Is: Spring Fashion With StyleCaster

Etsy.com handmade and vintage goods

We’re huge fans of StyleCasterthe go-to site for fashion and beauty news, helpful how-to videos, street style and oodles more. In fact, we’re so inspired by their always on-trend picks that we collaborated to create a spring-themed, all-Etsy fashion shoot featuring our own Nickey Skarstad. Here’s their intrepid Fashion Editor, Liz Doupnik.

As the stylist for StyleCaster’s fashion shoots, I’m always on the lookout for new trends and sources. That being said, I recently took to the Internet to not only do some of my own spring shopping, but also to search out some inspiration in the form of wearable items for people of all different shapes, sizes and finances. Having been an avid Etsy fan for some time, it was a natural marriage to to collaboratively create a vintage-inspired fashion feature with a modern and sweet twist.

Drawing from the quirky, slightly girly and lighthearted attitude of Etsy sellers, it seemed only natural to scout out a location as delish as these fashions: Dewey’s Candy Store in Brooklyn. As we shot the lovely Nickey Skarstad of Etsy’s Seller Education team, the rest of us tried to resist the temptation of all the colorful dangling lollipops and barrels full of sugary delights … that we all eventually ended up giving in to anyway (hey, we’re only human). Capturing some of the key 1960s trends of the season, we looked to little skirts and layering lace over t-shirts to update simple shapes and textures.

With such a huge assortment of clothes to play with, it was difficult to pick just a few awesome outfits from this major selection. Click through to see just what we discovered and to shop these looks for your own spring wardrobe.
