Hello, Los Angeles and San Francisco! Got the itch to stitch? Clear your calendar for the evening of Thursday, March 1, for you are invited to a fun night of meeting and making at your local craft museum. Read on for all the details on this month’s themes.

Craft Bar at Museum of Craft & Folk Art in SF

Beat the winter blues by crafting something spring-inspired at Craft Bar! March’s Craft Bar features artist Diana Rupp, who will be leading an embroidered craft project based on her book, Embroider Everything Workshop. Don’t know how to embroider? No problem! MOCFA staff and volunteers will help guide you through the basics, with as little finger-pricking as possible. As always, MOCFA supports liquid courage in crafting, so adult beverages will be available. $5 includes materials, tips, and tricks.

When: Thursday, March 1  from 6 to 8 p.m. PT at MOCFA.

Where: Museum of Craft and Folk Art at 51 Yerba Buena Lane, San Francisco, CA

 

Craft Night at Craft and Folk Art Museum in LA

This month’s theme is shoe redo with author and designer extraordinaire, Mark Montano! Bring in a pair of shoes that could use a stylish update, and Mark will have all kinds of fantastic materials to help with the reincarnation. You can also design shoe clips and accessories to jazz up all the shoes you own.  The crew from BC Footwear will also be on hand to judge the 15 coolest redos and winners get a free pair of shoes!

If you have additional pairs of shoes to spare, bring them in too. We’ll have a collection area where attendees can get shoes if needed. Any donated shoes not used that night will be given to a local charity. $5 admission includes materials and snacks. Free admission for members of CAFAM. RSVP is suggested to rsvp@cafam.org
