I am all about the modern vintage bride. Some people say that’s a contradiction, but to me, the modern vintage bride is a bride who loves vintage and wants to incorporate those details into a wedding in fresh and modern ways. She loves handmade elements and giving her wedding a special, personalized touch. She gets married anywhere, from a simple chapel in the middle of the desert to an elegant ballroom in the city. Here are some collections inspired by the modern vintage bride and some amazing venue inspiration.
Backyard weddings are fun, relaxed, and carefree. DIY and handmade elements reign supreme. I love when backyard weddings take something simple, like a plain buttercream cake or nude patent heels, and add in small details to give maximum character on a minimum budget. Playing with bold colors and bright patterns are a must (and chevron is always a great choice!).
Hotel weddings are all about glamor. This modern vintage bride loves sparkle and shine and doesn’t care who knows it. Dainty lace details and baubles add in a touch of romance. And for that extra something special, try a jeweled fabric bloom bouquet (you won’t regret it!).
This bride loves simple, earthy details. Let the surroundings guide your color choices; a neutral palette with pops of rich hues is playful and chic. Place those playful pops in small details, like the invites or your groom’s tie. And choosing a gown that will not only make you feel beautiful, but also comfortable, is key.
Loft weddings are great for the chic and modern. No fussy details here, just understated and elegant elements, but with a fun personalized twist. With a great venue that is more of a clean slate, feel free to play with color and modern patterns. Taking inspiration from your favorite artists, like this Jackson Pollock-esque invitation, is a great way to let your personality shine.
This venue is for the bride that would rather wear cowboy boots than heels. Take a cue from the surroundings with sweet nature inspired details; burlap and lace details are perfect in this setting. Certainly including some true vintage items is a great way to add that vintage style into a wedding. Love this post. Modern vintage was exactly what I told everyone in my wedding planning days ( 10 days married!). I was more of the modern vintage barn bride....lots of antique blue mason jars, bunting, LOTS of lace, skeleton keys, and an understated color pallet.
