I ask for 2-3 weeks as it gives me the time I require to dye, cut and stitch a shirt. My dyeing process for some of my fabrics can take up to 5 different dye baths, this alone can take more than a week to execute. Once the fabric is dyed, a final wash, dry and iron makes it ready to cut and stitch. I like another 3-4 days to construct your shirt, this ensures a well crafted shirt for you. In some cases your shirt will be ready in less than the 2-3 weeks that I request.

As a one-woman shirt shop, I wear all the hats, from designer, patternmaker, dyer, cutter and stitcher. Included in the creation of your shirt is not only the love that went into making it, but also the research and development of each style as well as the dye experimentation to create my colour palette. It is best to wash your shirt in cold water either separately or with like colours. Hang to dry and iron as needed. Please note that as I do hand dye all of my fabrics, I do my best to exhaust all the dye out in the rinse. Saying that, I do highly suggest that you wash the shirt separately for the first few washes. The fabric for your shirt will have already been pre-shrunk through the dyeing process so you do not need to worry about your shirt shrinking.

I use a method called low-water immersion dyeing. I love this method as my colour palette is inspired by rocks and minerals. It gives me the ability to create depths of colour and texture whether they are subtle or contrasting . I'm not looking for the perfectly dyed fabric. To interpret the colour spectrum of each specimen low-water immersion dyeing allows me to dye with more than 1 dye colour at a time; build up layers of colour through multiple dye baths; control how the dye moves through the fabric by how much the fabric is moved in the dyeing process. My shirts are made-to-order, this method of dyeing means that every shirt is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
