A deep red glass base is topped with dichroic glass and copper swirls. A copper ring is fused between the layers and hung from hand formed copper ear wires. These have a unique and one of a kind look. The glass measures 1/2" across and 1" long.

I love everything about fall, the colors, the cooler weather and the crisp air that hints that winter is on the way. We've have some beautiful sunrises & sunsets in the fall and they inspired this bold & sparkly digital painting.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the process, there are computer painting programs out there that are really amazing.

Everything I do starts with a blank "canvas", then I can pick a type of "paint", say watercolor, and begin to paint. Just as an oil painting records a creative thought in pigment & binders onto a canvas, these original digital paintings do the same process in pixels. I am able to vary the size of brush, color of paint, texture, hue, saturation, etc. just like a painting in traditional media. What is great about digital painting is that I can paint almost as fast as the ideas come, and clean up is a breeze!

Each is an original piece of art...whether it is a straightforward painting or a combo of techniques... and as is often true in my work in other media, sometimes I do not know where a piece will lead. I start out with abstract shapes and then the piece seems to speak to me and tells me where to go from there, many times with unexpected results and pleasant surprises. Most of them take me several hours to do and I am just as concerned with making a polished image as in other media.
