Hi!
I am Jenny. I am living in Jerusalem, in Israel. I was born in Russia and at the age of 11 I came to Israel with my family. This summer I finished my studies In Bezalel academy of art and design. Finally! I studied design in Illustration Department, and finished it with excellence!! Yaaw!
Now I'm living with my boyfriend in Jerusalem, and we have a cat together! His name is Blueskii, and he's the most beautiful and beloved cat in the world. No, seriously. He never scratches anyone and he loves us, and all the people who come to our home. He also loves to jump up and sleep on my work desk where I draw.
Apart from creating things, what do you do?
I do love to sleep and drink tea with cookies. Even when I sleep - I dream about drinking tea with cookies.
What first made you want to become an artist?
My father really loves art, and when I was very very small my father taught me to draw, and I continued. My father is a doctor!
Please describe your creative process how, when, materials, etc.
I have no routine in my creation process. I love that it's spontaneous and free. Sometimes I think about content, but sometimes I just pick up one of my pencils and start drawing. And sometimes I discover a new technique and I do something with my hands.
What handmade possession do you most cherish?
I like totes. I have a bag from HeliS. Also I have one brooch from Krize and one brooch from Ms. Linotte. I cherish them!
Name your top five books, movies, songs/musical groups, and web sites besides Etsy.
a. pikaland - I like their site and the project of Pikaland.
b. I like flickr, the people there, the works of others which give me lots of inspiration.
c. my best book would be The Little Prince
d. The Pierces - Secret - this is my favorite song.
e. and my favorite movie is The Truman Show.
What advice would you give to artists who are new to Etsy?
To take good pictures of their items, and also to make promotions outside of the site. But the most important advice is to enjoy the process of making crafts, and not thinking about sales.
What are your favorite features on Etsy? What new features would you like to see?
My favorite feature in Etsy is the Treasury. I really like making treasuries and seeing other peoples' treasuries. I like treasuries because we, the regular people of Etsy can take part and influence the front page and visuality of the Etsy front page.
I'd like to see animation on Etsy, like in avatars, or in the banners.
How do you promote your work?
I don't know a lot about how to promote my works, and I'm pretty shy, so I do it only on flickr.
In ten years I'd like to be...
To have my own studio and to have a lot of my own kids, one husband and one cat. |
