Joy and joy-osity. I waited. But not patiently. For I needed it to come. And with a faint thud at my front door on a valentine's afternoon, my wait was over. The mysterious carrier was nothing but a dull essence of axe cologne spray and Marlboro reds by the time I opened the door and drank in the vision of my package. My cutting of the package was both ravenous yet careful. Eager for the treasure, but fearful of any dage I foolishly might cause. Further into a rabbit hole of sticky tape, bubble wrap and scarlet tissue paper, with small curious designs that danced all over it like a constellation. It laid at the bottom of it all. A newborn gift to the world, lit up in candy-pink acrylic, swirling shapes of metal and a portrait very much like, yet unlike the one my computer mouse nibbled on a fortnight's past. A confection of life and imminent death. Frosting all in a bubble gum glow. Meat clever swung above a velvety black backdrop of infinite space. And the grim grin of a cake gone horribly stale. In a word: delicious.
Plus I got a little handmade button.
