30 before 30
exboyfriend
exboyfriend says:
TLC had a show on last night -- 30 things to do before you turn 30. What would be on your list? Are you 30 yet and how many of the have you accomplished? Here's mine (Xs are things I've done):

- X Own a house
- X Fall in love
- X Study a second language
- X Learn how to cook
- X Go overseas
- X Kiss a stranger
- X Learn how to dance
- X Throw a huge raucous fantastic party
- X Throw a proper dinner party with cloth napkins and courses and all
- X Own an ultimate little black dress that looks perfect on
- X Party all night long and go to work the next day without having gone to bed
- X Set up a 401k
- X Begin, in earnest, investing for the future (stocks, real estate, etc)
- X Move to a new place where you do not know any one
- X Get into top physical shape and look great naked
- X Graduate from college
- X Do volunteer work
- X Have a pet
- X Have a drink that is "your drink"
- X Make a donation of at least $100 to a good cause
- X Win a contest of some kind (costume, dance whatever)
- X Spend a weekend "in the country"
- X Own nice furniture that is not thrift store, craigs list or otherwise what you can afford rather than what you want
- Write a book
- Figure out what you want to be when you grow up

I can't remember back that far, but if my list was "party your ass off then have some babies," I'm spot-on!

lol mukibubb you made me laugh.

TLC did not come up with a very interesting list, in my opinion. There's no 'Dance on a cathouse tabletop in 3 inch heels' or 'Kiss a stranger' or even 'Astral project just once' and I could go on.
I can't stand age restriction anyhoo; I'm 35 and still have a list of things I want to accomplish before I'm no longer of this body. How about 30 things to do before you're dead?

ShaktiStudios says:
Oh mannn, I feel so bad!! I hope I did not misread that- is that your list or TLC's? I feel so bad now- total apologies! I just like knocking tv corporations, don't mind me. Your list is fine and wow, that's great that you have actually done all that. I guess I need to wake up before getting on these forums....
**face is soooo red, apologizes profusely**

ShaktiStudios says:
And Kiss a Stranger IS on your list Yay!!! That's fun, isn't it? - ok, I'm leaving now. Will thoroughly wake up and read all future threads before posting :)

Well, I've kissed plenty of strangers.

There was a list in a local Philly mag, it was 30 under 30 in the tech industry. It made my dad sad, because I think success stories worthy of mention are the baby boomers who changed careers later in life and made it in the tech industry. My dad was a manager at a grocery store for a long time, then went back to school, all around the age of 40, and now has a very high paying job in the IT industry, and I always thought that was amazing. It must be hard to change course in the middle of life.

that's what i've done.

but, doesn't TLC kinda suck? (you don't ex-boyfriend- you have adorable stuff! & a great avatar, & lots of other qualities that rock, surely)what does it stand for? i hate those frickin' lists! pressure!!!!! (here i am participating) do i therefore hate myself? nah! i've done too many of those things! but it's an elite list in a lot of ways- we're all pretty lucky to have done those things!

it should be things to do before you die.=^.^=
