Vistaprint is a SCAM

Original Post
Ok, I have posted in dozens of threads warning people about Vistaprint before, but there are currently 3 threads running in Etc about them so I think this should be addressed directly.
Yes, lots of people here have used Vistaprint with no problems. However, many many people have also been scammed by them.
Vistaprint is known for placing UNAUTHORIZED charges on many people's credit cards and bank accounts. This is NOT a matter of checking or unchecking a box when you sign up. Please do not say "well, you have to read the fine print". That is an insult to the people who read the fine print and were still signed up for Vistaprint's "Passport to Fun" program without their permission.
Vistaprint has also been caught selling customer's information.
They are on record with the Better Business Bureau as being the most-complained about company in the northeastern States, where they are located.
Please read this thread about one seller's recent experience:

She is just ONE of numerous sellers on Etsy who have been ripped off by Vistaprint.
If you need further proof, here are some links she provided:

If you haven't had a problem with Vistaprint, that's great. You are lucky. That has not been the experience for many people.
But even if you've been happy with their product and service, please reconsider supporting a company that has made clear and repeated ethical transgressions.

I do understand what you are saying. But I feel exactly the same way about Paypal. They are still promoted here.

Quirke - you are really knowledgeable. I have used them twice. The first time, no problem. The second time, they gave this "last minute offer" and I thought I was going to have a chance to choose options, etc, but it just charged it to my order - no chance to confirm or anything. I called and they reversed it, with a "well, you should have known". Anyway, I won't use them again as it seemed like they were trying underhanded tactics.

Mermaid, I have also posted warnings in threads about Paypal.
There's not much choice when it comes to how you pay for things online. Paypal pretty much has the monopoly.
But there are dozens of alternatives to using Vistaprint.
If someone wants to use Vistaprint, that's their choice. I just think they should make an informed decision.

Quirke - If VistaPrint isn't good place to have your business cards made, what other websites would you recommend for this kind of things?

I also was "joined" the passport of fun thing (without my knowledge), I had to call my bank, do a fraud report, they had to send me a new debit card, and close down my old one just because of vistaprint. It was a huge pain.

Thank you for the post. I unfortunately ordered a free stamp from Vista Print last week. Wish I had of read your post prior to that. I hope this doesn't happen to me.
