If in doubt about your flickr account ?

i wasn't sure where to put this because it is helpful to people but not directly about etsy

so don't bite my head off!

but my flickr account got deleted after 3,000 photo's and i have been so careful now to make sure my new one is safe my last one got deleted because i had links to my etsy shop!

BUT now we can ask flickr to review your account! if you go to " your account" or click on your user name in flickr you can get to a link and ask flickr to review your account! so as to avoid it getting closed down !

i was devastated about my flickr account so if in doubt just ask them to review it!

They didn't even warn you?? That sucks big time!!

I have etsy in my profile and tags only, I think that is acceptable yes or no?

I have read of this happening before so it is definately worth checking out to be sure! I have also heard that it is wise to add personal photos, not just 'shop' photos but once again not sure how true this is.

I would be so frustrated if they shut down my flickr before a warning. It takes a lot of work to build up contacts and add pictures.

Thanks for the tip!

that's good to know, I've heard of no warnings over there and they rule is something ambiguous like "do not use for commercial purposes" but of course they never spell out what htey count as commercial purposes

there have been very few mentions of it on flickr that i have seen. from what i know "etsy" tags are ok and it is ok to put a link to your shop in your profile. But you cannot mention etsy in your description or photo title or link to your shop from the photo description.

another q, what about if you have a paid pro account? or if you DO mix up personal/people & product pictures? i think it's super weird that no one really is sure what their policies are. i get that they don't want it to be a place for people to spam, or a new sort of marketplace... but i feel like most people post so innocently! ack. i am so sorry to hear that this happened to you.
