Remember the sect in Texas that had their children removed? Well, they got the children back, and now they are making and selling the clothing that we all saw on television.

The TV coverage was pretty good, but unwanted, advertising. |

I'm not a clothing maker but I wonder what thier target market is? Granted thier style of dress got a lot of attention but I don't think it will be too popular in our society. And at first I thought that the other LDS people (some of whom dress very conservatively) would be interested in it, but since thier rules disallow polygamy, they probalby wouldn't want to financially support such an endeavor.
But on the other hand, good for the women who are trying something that may make them more independent! |

I'm not trying to be funny, but is anyone else into that style of dress besides themselves? |

Oh I see, it's basically kids clothes. Cool, that will probably go over well. |

I think some of the baby dresses might be used by more main stream people. Some of the styles would be good for reenactment type stuff maybe? The girls night gowns are pretty useful I think. My girls wear stuff like that in the winter. |

I'm (obviously) all for supporting handmade, but the notion that the $ would go to a cult that degrades and demoralizes women and children just doesn't sit well with me. Hmmm... |

To be clear, they made the site and then got the children back, not vice versa.
From the article: "Launched initially to provide Texas authorities with clothing for FLDS children in custody, the online store now is aimed at helping their mothers earn a living." |

getpalmd says: .... what? They got their kids back? WHY ================ Because it was ruled that they were taken without proper cause. I have not kept up on it but I understand most all the claims that first came out had little or no evidence to support them.
The same thing happened in the 50s with this same group I think. |
