Pirates and Ninjas are so ... June.

My assessment of geekery trends: Pirates and ninjas are waning. Zombies, however, are still going strong, with a possible surge in robots.
Part of my data comes from this: With the first three sets of pirate-ninja towels I made, each sold within a couple days of getting them listed. The last set sat in my shop for nearly two months before selling. So I don't think I'll make any more. Fun while it lasted, though.
I predict zombies, which have been building for a couple of years now, will mushroom through Halloween, after which I think they'll lose strength.
I'd love to hear college students, gamers, and other professional geeks assess the geekery trends as they see them. Where should we odd people focus our energies?
Thanks for the info. :)

I am always on the look out for zombie related stuff around Christmas.
Robots feel right, too.
Pirates and ninjas do feel a bit over to me.
(I am no expert on this sort of thing - just like to buy fun stuff for my brother-in-law.)

that's unfortunate, I had hearted those towels, and I was wanting a set when I got enough money to go on an Etsy spree...

*bookmarking for later* I am the head librarian of my area's Sci Fi society, I'm curious what others have to say about the trends.
I'm personally waiting for the day rats become cool.

(hug for Allie) :) Aw, shucks! For you, I'll make a set. Just ask when you're ready. :)
