Donate some manga to Navajo underfunded school please!

This is a call for donations-- manga donations! Please pass it on.
I recently discovered Reader to Reader, a group which provides books for underfunded school libraries.
The woman I have been corresponding with is stocking the severely needy library of a school on a Navajo reservation. The kids there love reading manga, but can't afford to buy it. And their library can't afford to buy it. The kids have also been looking for more information on manga, but their few school computers have either no or extremely limited internet access.
Please send these kids your spare manga and books on manga. In the US, books and comics may be sent via media mail, which is relatively inexpensive.
Everyone deserves to read books and comics that they enjoy. Please help with this very worthy cause.
If you send any manga, please comment (ideally with what it is) so we can all enjoy seeing the library grow.
NOTE: You don't need to ask if your manga is something they want! As long as it's in good condition, they want it. Don't worry if you only have volumes 2 and 9 of a series-- the librarian in charge will put the series together from other donations.

i love the idea of kids reading and donating books...but i also think it's sad that kids are being encouraged to read only manga
there is SO MUCH great literature out there...why manga?

Have you ever visited a res? Trust me, you'd want manga too.
And I'll bet most people only donate books that are "good" for them. Give them what they're asking for.

Right now its manga because its getting kids to read.. and at a young age its important to get kids to enjoy reading ANYTHING. The worst thing you can do is send kids to the library in their school and have them sit in a corner cause all they have are the classics, or they cant find anything they are interested in.
I would rather have a kid read manga than not be interested in books at all. I personally Never read comics or anything of that nature as a kid cause i thought they were all superheroes and boy stuff. Boy was i wrong. Comics opened a whole new world for me, with new stories i can relate to.
I guess the same could be said for why goosebumps, or why RL stein books, or anything else kids like to read.

I have a bunch of them currently in the "Salvation Army" pile.
They are not aimed at kids though. Would they still be interested?

i guess i just worry about the downward spiral in this country in education
i remember seeing a news program awhile back about a nearby library starting to have video games for kids. i guess the thought was "well, whatever gets 'em into the library".
kids don't need video games, but they do need to be able to read and write
don't get me wrong...i think any reading is good and not all reading needs to be "classics". kids should be able to indulge in fun reading as well
should kids have manga to read-sure
but that shouldn't be the ONLY thing they read
btw i think it's great to collect books for them
i like to take children's books to our local women's shelter

They will take donations as well for anything kid related.
Lets get everyone reading.
( and yeah i think video games are maybe a bit out of place in the library - but they do have dvd's and cd's so i dunno)
