| Am I the only one upset about vintage children's books? |

I collect vintage children's books. I think it's a travesty to outlaw selling them. They should at least be able to be sold to adult collectors. |

I thought the latest said only children's books dated after 1985. |

I think one of the main targets of this law was books. The new CPSIA guideline says books after 1985 may be OK, what is in books before 1985? Ideas they don't like? |

Great. We'll have to throw out all the quality children's literature since the beginning of time (of which there has been painfully little written or published since 1985). Does anyone else sense Big Brother approaching? |

Ouch. All the things I love...crocheting, antiques, donating to thrift stores, and now books. Well, crap. I think I'll join my kids in the bubble, since there's nothing left to do but watch tv. |

I'm also upset! My husband and I collect vintage and antique children's books and we really wonder why anyone would think a law applying to things that will be given to children should include things like his first edition of Eugene Field's 'Poems of Childhood'. That particular volume does *not* belong in the hands of a child! Heck, some adults aren't gentle enough to get near a thing like that. |
