Get into Google's "Shopping" search results--use Google Base

Have you seen the "shopping" link at the top of the Google search page?

Have you noticed the "Shopping results for XXXX" at the top of the Google search results?

To have your items show up in those specialized results you need to upload your items to Google's free advertising program--the feature is called "Google Base".

This is not about getting your items into Google's regular search results--just their product search. More about the service in general here:

What is Google Base?

To get your Etsy shop items listed on Google Base you can use one of the two following methods--the links take you to a step by step tutorial for adding your shop:

Etsy RSS and Google Base

This method allows you to use the scheduler which will update your shop content automatically (once you set it up and it is working, you are done):

Let’s Ets and Google Base

With this method you save a file to your computer and upload it to Google. When your shop content changes you must save a new file and upload it again. You must do this at least once every 30 days or your items will expire.

There's also some basic info about Google Base, some what-to-expect info and trouble shooting info in the blog posts and the comments sections of the blog posts.

burntmill--Let's Ets is great! Have you tried the RSS version above? You won't even have to upload new files anymore--it'll be updated for you automatically.

cindylouwho2--me too! I love not having to think about updating our shops!

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to become searchable much faster with the RSS too

I set mine up and it failed a couple of times before it started working. If you followed all the steps correctly, hang in there! It may begin working in a few days.

I tried it... I'll know something at 7:00 a.m. today. :-) My items have expired so if I have active items, I'll be a happy camper...

Thanks again!

Failed in the last 3 weeks,
totally unable to made it
eventhough I upload it 100s successfully in the last few months,
3 weeks ago, FAILED
I got up to the LAST step,
last page,
it asap show me the *file name* failed/no live item.

Usually , it will say *Manual Upload*.

so no google base for me for 3 weeks now, for BOTH of my etsy shops.
