How do YOU pretty up your packaging?

Kids sometimes play with the box more than the toy. We may have outgrown that, but a shrinkwrapped diamond ring has nowhere near the appeal of one in a velvety box.

How do you package your items? If you use recycled packaging in particular, how do you make it pretty? Does your exterior aesthetic match your product? Does it matter? What could you do better? What have you done that you want to brag about (and brag away!)?

Things on my mind today after my blog post tangentially mentioned using stamps on my packaging. http://jillhannah.blogspot.com

Hey! I do a plastic wrap with a label. Then I like to wrap a wraffia bow around them :) Just something a little extra!

Curious if everyone does this to packages going out?
Trying to get all the info/advice I can before listing. :)

Over at the other place I was more concerned with packing safely than package looking pretty. Sometimes depending on clothing items I would use tissue though. :)

I've been tying them up with a nice ribbon that coordinates with the colors of the order
(all 3 of them!) and slipping a business card under the bow.

I use recycled packing materials but I always try to make things look nice, I use old jewlery boxes (the white cardboard ones) when I have them, and tie them up with whatever nice ribbon I have on hand. I cut special foam packing out for things when I have that, or print out neat paper or cardboard backing for things when I have those on hand. My packaging style always varies based on what I have on hand, but I love making it as nice as possible, and always try to make it presentable as a gift on it's own.
