I have been involved through most of this day with another thread that focused on Vintage/Supplies and Meta Keywords.
Now, you ask yourself, what the heck is "Meta Keywords"? and what the heck does that have to do with my shop?
Oooh, let me tell you, those words hold you in their hands. Sorry, not AllState here, but Etsy.
What Etsy has done is taken the word "handmade" and put that as a Meta Keyword on all of OUR shops. If you go to View, page source, you will see handmade before all sections whether they are: Handmade/Vintage/Supplies.
So you say.. "So What?"
Have you ever heard of "handmade vintage pearl necklace", "handmade fresh water pearl"? I haven't.
So now onto handmade sellers...
With the use of "handmade" before each of our sections (No less than 10), the Google bots find this as tag abuse and will ignore your listings.
Hip Hip Hurray, we all just worked all week to get our listings "relevant" to have the Google bots tell us... You are bad, bad, bad... abuse tags and we will ignore you. |
