I have just found someone using my images to make bags. The stupid thing is that my Cafe Baudelaire watermark is still clearly visible! unbelievable theft straight from etsy listings. We need to be able to stop this lifting of images Please etsy help us! |

Seriously, they're using it even with the watermark? Crazy!
I haven't looked in your shop, but one thing that you can do is upload a small, very low res version of your picture. That way you can at least take solace in the fact that they're only getting a crappy version of it. ;)

I don't think there is a lot that Etsy can do about this. If the bags you found were here on Etsy then flag them and let admn take care of it. Clearly this person doesn't care that the watermark is still there, which is really sad. You may also want to contact them and let them know that you know they are using your photos. Sorry this has happened.
You images are just beautiful too! |

CafeBeaudelaire- I see the reason they are still using your watermark! It looks like a design element. Honestly, I had to really look to see it was a watermark and not part of the image.
I bet if you change it to something more obviously an ugly old watermark, they'll quit using the images. What you have now is too pretty, so it's not a deterrent. |

Dear I also concerned about photo protection. I water mark all my photoes. BUT if you want to protect your photo, the BEST way is to add your etsy link water mark to it:
Like this----www.CafeBaudelaire.etsy.com
If they still use your photoes, then they will only help you get more exposure:)
Good luck! |

How hideous - you must be absolutely fuming.
But if the images you've uploaded to Etsy aren't print quality, no matter what Etsy does to protect them, someone could still get a screen grab and print from that.
I agree with a statement I read on another site (I think it was RedBubble) about image theft. They said that if you want to guarantee that nobody will steal your images, don't show them to anyone! In a gallery, someone could take a photo, online someone can take a screen grab.
I hope you're able to stop these people from selling. Have you contacted them yet?
xxx kate
PS. Maybe we need a big sign on the door reading 'Etsy shoplifters will be prosecuted' :( |
