WTF- My 2 word title is still too long

I've been shortening my titles this morning. By chance, I ran one through the Meta Tag Analyzer (www.scrubtheweb.com/abs/meta-check.html )
I kept cutting more and more words from my title until there are only 2 left - Ceramic Hedgehog.
The analyzer tells me my title is 66 characters long - 6 too many for it to be "robot friendly".
How the heck can I make a one word title and expect anyone to know what I'm selling? I'm discouraged and confused.
If my first words of my title are; Handmade Ceramics and Pottery on Etsy... , am I wasting my time titling my item with the words Ceramic Hedgehog? Maybe I don't need the word Ceramic and can just use something else?

Has everyone optimized the section titles of their shops?
It could make a big difference if you do it, and it won't hurt you, even if they change the product pages.
It sounds like we're stuck with section titles for keywords. I would love to know who came up with that bit of genius????
Make a list of key words for your entire shop, and think about what people will use, to search for your products.
The keywords you choose will be added to your sections.
You have 10 sections to work with. You get to pick ten keywords or 2 that you use 5 times or any combo.
But don't use any word more than 5 times in the whole list, that include *and*, because that is how the bots find spam.
I'll give you some tools, to count letters, and check to see if you exceed the limit # of keywords. Keyword limit is about 800 characters according to some sources but try to stay under that amount to be safe.
Use the keywords you have chosen, for your sections, but try not to add anything that is not relevant to most of your items, because the keywords, or relevant words, on your home page, need to be found in your item pages, and your tags and sections.
Try to use your section keywords in your tags, when you list an item. The bots will see the two keywords, and add it to the information they are grabbing.
Try to use keywords 4 times on your "item" page. You can put it in the title, descriiption, sections, and tags. You can probably get by with using it twice in the description. Using too many keywords on one item page, can hurt you as much as not using enough.
The important thing is to make sure all your wordage is relevant to the item you are listing.
To make the titles longer in your sections:
Delete the section you want to edit.
In "Your etsy" choose an item to edit.
When you get to the price page, and can choose a section... don't choose one...choose
the "make a new section" option to the right of the section box.
Enter the information you want in that section...be sure to use some of the "tag" words in your title, your description and tags.
Example: Sweaters,long sleeve,button,light weight,wool,pullover,red
The tag words you want to use, in the listing for this sweater, are the words after sweaters in your sections. Spread those words around your item listing....using each keyword 3 or 4 times on the item page...In your title, description, tags and sections.
You can use a lot more words making sections this way.
Regarding your item title...remember that Etsy is going to add "Handmade clothing on etsy - "...to your title line...in FRONT of your item title.
You only have between 60 to 80 charactrs, depending on the search engine, to work with. So count how many letters etsy has added, and use YOUR words wisely at the beginning of your title.
Think of keywords buyers would use to search for the type of item you have listed, put those words first...after etsy's spam....

just put it back the way its suppose to be and stop screwing with our shops in a way that will negatively affect business. Personally I havent seen a difference in traffic, but many others have. Please at least change it back to the way it use to be and let our listings promote us and not Etsy, because I know we already do alot of promoting for this website. Its a real shame that peoples lives are being affected in a dramatic change because of the meta tags. If you want us to be successful, please change it back or fix it.... if you want Etsy to be successful, than I would do the same as well. Also I think if you cant fix this gar-bage, then someone at Etsy can shorten all my titles for me, because its gar-bage that we have to change it in the first place.
