Concerning Shop Meta Titles, Stella said...SEO issues still a problem!

SoSheSews I don't know if that will do any thing for us or not.

I out the words digital collage sheets in my title it ahs always been in my title since day one and I have links in my announcement to my other etsy shops just in case that is a factor which it seems to be but that hasn't helped me either. Honestly if you make changes now it may not even help until your shop is crawled and indexed again, if it helps at all.

people will still need to search using the term etsy to find you.

This is major portion of my income also and without it I cannot pay my rent as it sits right now my rent is due in 5 days and I have about 20 dollars to pay it with.

I'm seriously considering contacting a lawyer and the FTC
my business has been destroyed by etsy's incompetence

I don't think this has been mentioned, but Etsy is already predominant in our shops.

Every shop has that giant orange "Etsy" link at the top of it, along with a myriad of other Etsy links.

When I was on CP we had the ability to use our own code, or templates, to adjust how our shops looked. However, we were never allowed to pull off that CP logo link, which frustrated us very much, since it was a leak. But Etsy already has every page in my shop branded for them in multiple ways. I don't understand the desire to add their name to all of my shop, section, and listing titles.

plus there's the fact that it's best for them if we do well in getting traffic from google and other searches. We are bringing in people who are not just our potential customers, but potential Etsy buyers in general. They can easily navigate away from our shop once they come in, an on to the rest of Etsy. If they do buy from us individually, then they now have an Etsy account, have seen that there are a lot more shops and items, and can easily become a repeat customer.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think them putting Etsy into our stuff is helping them either. But I'm guessing they haven't thought of it this way, or they wouldn't be doing it.

You are so right. Them adding Etsy to everything basically just guaranteed we won't get seen and if we don't get seen then they lose customers. Plus they keyword spammed all of our shops into the supplemental index (the black hole of death on google). That's what is so scary, this doesn't work on EVERY LEVEL and someone thought this was a good idea! Can you understand why I have so little faith in the tech department?

There should be a storque article explaining SEO and how to maximize your potential

dennis I know the feeling too well lately,

and BTW page rank is based on link popularity and not anything else that we do or etsy does to our shops.

My rank has gone from 4/10 down to 2/10 recently and I think my link relevance is becoming another issue brought on by this mess!

A storque article on how to maximize your SEO would normally be a great idea. But here's the problem. The SEO problems we are experiencing now are directly caused by etsy's SEO errors and we can't fix them.
