While my nights are spent knitting for my shop, my days are spent as a wildlife biologist for The Wildlife Learning Center. We do educational outreach--taking animals to schools to teach kids. I love my job!
With recent budget cuts hitting schools especially hard, the funding for our before and after school programs is gone. We want to continue though, on our own, at no cost to the schools.
On September 26, we are having a benefit to raise money to fund our after school lessons. It will include food, drinks, tours, animal encounters, silent auction and raffle tables.
If anyone has anything--and I do mean ANYTHING--they'd like to donate for our silent auction/raffle, we would love it! (Of course, you should include business cards or similar items for our guests to take and tuck away for future use!) All donors will be also listed in the event program for the night.
Also, if you are in the Los Angeles area, please come to the benefit!!
