Original Post
Hello fellow Etsians! :)
I have restarted the Etsy Traveling Art journal.
As you may remember, this was a project originally started by Stellaloella and myself about 2 years ago.
It has since (as of this weekend) been resurrected :D
I have emailed all of the original participants and have received a great response. If you were a participant in the original project and have *not* gotten an email from me, please convo me and I will put you back on the list :)
I have also sent out emails to the artists that wanted to participate but we didn't have room for.
That being said, if you don't fall into either group and you would like to participate, please email me at EtsyJournal@gmail.com
Also, the Yahoo Group EtsyJournal has been ressurected. I have put several spam-blockers in effect to keep the bot postings to a minimum. If you have unsubscribed from the group, please feel free to rejoin :D We'd love to have you.
I will be posting all of this to our Blog(EtsyJournal) just as soon as I have a minute :)
I look forward to getting this project started up again!

Responses
Yes, this is still in the "generating interest" phase :)
Feel free to talk to your friends about the project, generate a little bit of interest on your own :D
I am sure that interest will pick up steam once the project gets rolling and people start posting about their experiences with the project :)
Also, I am SPECIFICALLY looking for Austrailian artists right now in hopes of doing a strictly Oz book :)
I plan on contacting the Austrailian team to get the word out :D

And, as I have been remiss in explaining *exactly* what the Traveling Journal is about, here is a little blurb :
The Etsy traveling journal is a collaborative mail-art project. The basic idea is this:
A handmade journal is passed from one Etsian to another, via the mail. Each participant gets a full spread in the journal to create, embellish, draw, paint, write, *whatever* they want. Then they pass it along to the next person until the entire book is filled.
Each book will be 5 x 8 inches and have hard covers. It will come with a companion writing journal to include your thoughts and experiences on the project.
The finished book may be on display at the Etsylabs in NYC. (Depending on how the particpants vote) We have a blog set up to track the progress of the book, updated with images of each spread: etsyjournal.blogspot.com/
(There are pictures of some of the spread from the first journals, which were irrecovably lost)

Check out the old thread for more in depth details such as acid free glue & 3-d art "rules".
(This will keep you busy until I can repost the good stuff here *g*)

**** OFFICIAL GUIDELINES for the Etsy traveling journal collaborative ****
------- SIGNING UP ----
-- Each participant must sign up by sending their name, address, Etsy shop name & email address to etsyjournal@gmail.com
-- Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis of getting your sign-up request.
------- PARTICIPATION RULES ----
-- Each participant will be notified that you are next in line when your address is sent to the person before you (all done by email).
-- IF a participant desires to be "skipped" due life circumstances, please email etsyjournal@gmail.com immediately upon getting your 'next in line' notification.
-- Participant MUST email etsyjournal@gmail.com when you get the book to find out where to send it next. No contact information is sent with the book itself for privacy reasons.
-- Each participant gets a 2-page spread; you will be assigned page numbers when you get your 'next in line' notification email.
-- Do not alter anyone else's artwork, or use pages not assigned to you. (If you make a mistake, look at it as an opportunity for your entry to "evolve" into something else; be creative.)
-- Please write about your entry in the small companion book (at least giving your page numbers, name & etsy shop name -- but hopefully more).
-- Please scan or photograph your pages before sending the book, then email images to etsyjournal@gmail.com for the blog.
-- Participants can have the book for up to ONE WEEK maximum. Please ship promptly.
-- Please ship Priority Mail. This book is one of a kind; we don't want to lose it! By sending it Priority, we will be able to track the book and know where it is at all times. When you send out the book, please email the tracking number to me at etsyjournal@gmail.com
-- By signing up, all participants agree to pay all shipping costs out of your own pocket. You also agree to pay for international shipping if necessary.
This project is organized by myself, Heather, (DecadenceDesigns.etsy.com ). Feel free to convo me, or email etsyjournal@gmail.com with questions.

They're here! They're here!
The books have arrived (Thanks, Stella!!)
Now that they have arrived, I can get them out to our first round of artists :)
I hope to have them out by October 15, but they could go out sooner!
Watch your inboxes for confirmation emails :D

Just posted a new message on the Yahoo group - EtsyJournal.
If you are not already a member of the group, please join! This is how I will be making updates to the group (rather than sending out emails).
Thanks :D

Good news!
The first 2 journals are full and the third only needs 6 more people before it, too is full :)
We will be able to fit *50* people in the last book, so there is plenty of room :D

Is it safe to assume that if we're already getting emails from emailing for the previous round and we've already responded that we're still interested, that we don't need to email again?
