Here is a link you should check out. Even the police departments are affected. Hope those books were printed after 1985.

That's so ridiculous!

I am a "big kid" and even a squeeze of one of my stuffed animals makes me feel a whole lot better. :)

I can imagine what it can do for a kid.

That makes me so sad. Those kids need more than a book. Aren't laws and regulations there to help? Just because it is easier to to quantify physical pain doesn't mean that more damage isn't being done by taking comforting things away. Figure out how to get them the appropriate stuffed animals. Don't just give them and a hard book. othing gets me more fired up then when people mess with children.

That's terrible! The police dept here has a huge teddy bear drive every year. I guess ours will have to cancel too. A book will do nothing for a child who needs some comfort and something to hug.
That's so sad. I wonder if this will affect programs like Toys for Tots. Will donations be down for Christmas this year or will alot have to be thrown away because they are not tagged to be compliant? It will be interesting to see.

The damn government do gooders need to get their sticky damn noses out of parenting.

Kids these days are so regulated they can't have fun or grow up.

Guess the Government is all for the sissification of America. This all happens becauser the people are too apathetic to tell them they are out of line and need to stop.

I think as we near the holidays, we will see more of this. And next year?!!! It is a tragedy. Americans are losing their right to give from their hearts. Too doggone bad! At what point do we, as Americans, as parents, as grandparents, as the police departments, and fire departments, as the thrift shops, as the donators to infants and children in hospitals, and to the children in families having a rough time, to the homeless ---- ----- at what point do we say we have had enough! At what point do we get a backbone and outnumber the Congress! At what point to we make good solutions to this problem! At what point do we take our God-given abilities and education and common sense, and just say NO! We aren't playing this game anymore! At what point . . . ?

The part that I find irritating is that this doesn't have to happen. Instead of taking teddy bears from kids who have just experienced tragedy, why isn't the government making sure the materials used to make the teddy bears are safe and lead-free? I just can't wrap my head around this. . .

Good Grief!!! The environment in which the majority of the children have been exposed to is far worse then hugging homemade teddy bears!
