Wacko from Waco, follow up #2

Let's start over.

This thread is about the Wacko from Waco, except she's not actually from Waco. She just had a bakery there. She has been involved in smearing the names of 200 people on her fraud blog, which she started in July in revenge for being removed from a couple of online marketplaces for various reasons.

She has filed false reports to various city, county, state and by her statements, federal government agencies in order to harass online sellers.

Since the vast majority of her targets have been Etsy shops, my purpose in this thread is to make people aware of her, and also to urge people to check into the requirements of their state/city/county in operating a business out of their home. Where I live, I don't need a business license nor do I need to pay business property taxes, but other states have different requirements.

Even if you don't need a business license, keep receipts and track of your sales, even if it's in a notebook. If you have a net profit of over $400 you need to pay SS and Medicare taxes.

Get a sales tax license. You can do that online. You're only required to pay sales tax on purchases from people from your own state. But again, different states have different requirements of collecting it. In Minnesota we don't have to collect it from the customer. All we have to do is pay it when we file. In Texas you're required to collect it at the time of the sale. Check with your state dept. of revenue.

I'm really so impressed that this came together the way it did. Don't mess with Texas, indeed.

And here is my usual blurb :)

Time for a quick reminder :)

As usual folks. If you are concerned or intimidated, please do NOT post in this thread. Lurk or convo by all means. Please DO NOT post links or CALL OUT as we are trying to keep this thread open for information and any updates.

There are people you can convo. ivers, LaurieRyan, Grandmasbest and myself will be more than happy to provide you with the FAQ information. Please convo us first due to the fact that we could be muted for sending out too many convos which is considered spam.

Thank you.

3 more posts tonight, a lampworker, a bookmaker, and an extremely talented jewelry maker.

19 to go on her list.

She is selling at a the local Junior League's Christmas Market. Big guy present and a really awful looking woman that told him to move down a bit then took a shopping bag and walked around (looking for victims?). I wonder how many people at the venue will find their names on this list? I really did want to ask for her take on the whole situation to see how she reasoned...

I was surprised to see her there since the brick and mortar business community know about the allegations surrounding her but it could be why the booth stayed empty while I was there. And the expression on Mom's face make one not want to enter the booth--I don't think I ever saw her smile.

She hired security, she did that at her last show too.

Pretty darn sad...

I am surprised they even allowed her to have a booth there.

Sad maybe, but I find the fact she hired a blart and no buyers quite hilarous. What she wished on others has come full circle and kicked her own ass.

There is your karma right there.
