Hi!

I see that a few of you are starting new threads on this topic, and so I thought to prevent the Forums from getting too cluttered with multiple instances of the same discussion I'd consolidate them here and let you know what I could about what's coming.

If you're reading this, there's a good chance that you know about SCRAM: www.etsy.com/storque/etsy-news/tech-update-scram-resellers-7477/ ---this is a system that's being tweaked all the time in order to stop persistent resellers from opening and reopening accounts on Etsy.

Our Content Outreach Team has recently grown and we're looking to grow it further. We're looking in particular for experts in individual categories to grow our overall knowledge base; if you know good candidates in or near Brooklyn, show them this and ask them to apply!

You'll be able to read a little more about Content Outreach, which deals with educating sellers who have been flagged and removing content from the site which is in violation of policy, in an upcoming Storque article that should be released this week or next.

Also in the Storque but in the near future, we'll be posting a series of articles about the guidelines for listing in each category. We'll provide more information about that series as it gets closer to completion.

As a reminder, calling out other sellers on Etsy is a violation of Etsy policy. This does not expedite investigations by Content Outreach, and can put your Forum privileges at risk. See our policies for Etsy's community spaces here:

In the end, our greatest resource is the help you provide in flagging shops and items and we cannot thank you enough for it. This is one of the key reasons why we're hiring more Support Team members: to bring more people to the Content Team and to read and investigate flags more quickly than before. Thank you again for your help!

Thanks for the update, Rob.

So, we're stuck with tags and flags for a while longer?

Looking forward to the Storque articles - thanks! :-)

It's just nutso - there were several in chat today! I flagged, like I'm supposed to, but it's just frustrating. I've flagged a couple of them weeks ago!

But please understand, Rob, You've asked us to participate in the ridding of resellers by flagging, and from our perspective, nothing gets resolved. The same shops selling the same mass produced stuff remain.

Does admin realize the negative impact that resellers have on the integrity of this site?

As a vintage clothing seller, I would like to see the job description include not just applicants with DIY/artisan expertise but those with expertise in collectibles and vintage. With vintage, the issues are with modern goods being passed off as vintage, sometimes out of ignorance, but many times purposefully fraudulent.

I look forward to reading about the Content Outreach group. I'm glad Etsy is being proactive on this. Thanks!

Flags from the community are going to be important and useful for a long time, yet. No matter how effective automated tools like SCRAM become, human beings will always be able to catch things that it won't. And no matter how large our Content Outreach Team becomes, our community will still be larger. That said, as we add more members to the Team we'll be able to be both better and faster in our investigations.

Thanks for communicating with us Rob. As always.

So, the content team and customer service reps are one and the same? Are there etsy people who are just working on the reseller problem?
