Welcome to the August Daily Listing Club, a group of shops who add at least one new listing to their shop every day of the month. We’re so glad you've found us and welcome you to participate with us! To be added to today's list, you should have a listing dated August 26, 2010. You can add it to the end of our list (but before the treasuries) and we'll all check it out and comment! If you don't have a new listing today, feel free to check out all of ours, and we'd love to have you comment or ask us any questions.

The best way to keep the list intact is if - before you copy and paste the list - you start with an individual post, where you introduce your new listing for the day and any comments, questions, etc. for the group. Then make sure that no one else has done the same and is in the process of copying and pasting the list, or you're likely to overlap and someone will get dropped from the list.

► Here’s how to add yourself to the list:
Copy the most current list including the treasuries and paste it into the "reply" box - but don't hit "Post" yet. Scroll down to the last listing - before the treasuries - and add 4 lines:

1. your shop name (if you do it as yourname.etsy.com it will show up as a clickable link) followed by your first name and location
2. a one line description or introduction - see today's list for ideas
3. the clickable link to your listing
4. ************************************************** (this separates you from the shops that will follow)

When you hit "post" and your copied list appears, take a moment to see that whoever was on the list just before yours is still on yours (if 2 of you were copying and pasting at the same time whoever hit "post" first will get dropped) and that the treasury list is still intact. If there's been a problem, post saying "I'll fix it" and then hopefully no one else will do anything until it's resolved. If you run into trouble feel free to ask for help.

Then take a few moments to click on everyone else's new listings and comment on what you see. You'll find that we can get ideas from one another on how to improve our listings, ways to promote them, and even some sales!

~*~*~*~*~*~ LISTING CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS ~*~*~*~*~*~

1. We have had quite a few folks get dropped off our lists inadvertently. PLEASE remember after you post to check “behind” you to insure that you didn’t drop someone accidentally. If it happens to you “call out” in the thread that you are fixing the problem – this way others know to wait until you post the “fixed” list. If you happen to be dropped & no one catches it – our apologies in advance – just put your listing back on the list. We do feel terrible when folks get dropped – but unfortunately with over 60 shops posting & listing, and many at the same time – it's up to each of us to make sure we haven't dropped someone else.

2. Please make sure to put your listing into the thread prior to adding it to the list. It might be an added step for you – but – should you get dropped – it makes it a lot easier for other members to make sure you get back on the list.

3. This is a club to whom many attribute much success, and that's due to the hard work of our members, who faithfully check out one another's listings and provide valuable feedback on those listings, whether the photos, or the descriptions, or the tags - you name it. You don't have to pay to join this group by purchasing a listing from one of our members, but you do have to pay with your time. We understand that not everyone can comment on every listing every day. But it is an interactive group, and if we find that you habitually are not engaging in the give and take, you'll find that we will have to remove your listing from the daily list. Please don't take this action personally - we welcome you back when you have more time to participate. Thank you for your understanding.

4. Note: Members list has been updated. Check your shop info…make sure it is correct. See the note in the post following the member list for special instructions….and make sure if you alter the member list to move that special note post along with it.

5. NEW: Starting 8/19 we’re limiting the number of items to the list to two (2) per shop to make the list more manageable for posting & moving forward as well as to lighten the viewing & commenting load for our members. Please! Please! Members – feel free to post as many relists, new listings & renewals in the thread as you’d like. Many of us do look at those & we do want to see what you do! Just having close to 150 items to move – and view – on the list daily….is a bit much even for the best intentioned….most talented…and wide awake.

I know this might be a stretch, but it's worth a try :)

My daughter, Hailey is almost 5, and she has Alopecia. She hasn't had an "attack" (gone bald) in over a year, but she is in the process of going bald again, and she is getting ready to start school.

I want/need to get her some cute hats to cover her bald head, but she just got out of ICU again, and we just can't afford to right now. Would you be willing to trade etsy items, or maybe even donate?

Please let me know either way.

2. AFTER YOUR COUNTRY (yes..country...make sure it's there) IF you open to trading put a "(T)" after country do indicate so to our members.

Since we still have some folks who need to see this reminder….

Also - it must be reiterated....and no one is being singled out here so please don't start the paranoia - we want to make sure that the "rules" here are clear so no one gets offended later on.

This IS a participatory club. If you put an item on the list- you are expected to comment on fellow members items. It's reciprocal. Simple. This does not mean you can comment on only 1, 2, or 3 members. I for one, know how many members comment on every one every day...and that's a huge percentage of this group. Others comment on at a minimum half. Which is also fine. Coming in and giving nothing or the barest minimum possible is not acceptable - and not fair to these other folks who give generously of their time. Everyone has bad days, family issues and the like. Please don't worry if you miss a day or two...longer than that - let us know. The world doesn't have to know - but mystuff or I do. We will begin to remove members from both lists if we have to. We don't want to - but if the need be...we will. NO, we are not tally marking - but we are watching.
Again - I can't stress enough how wonderful this club & what it stands for really is. It is phenomenal - very giving and supportive - and all our members deserve that courtesy...love, respect and support.
Questions, comments & suggestions......you all know how to reach mystuff and me.

Thanks for all you guys DO for one another! It's the best thing ever!
