What is a "reasonable" amount of time to give a seller to ship an item?

I was given negative feedback for a purchase because I chose to give the seller a "neutral" rating. The product was perfect and I love what I purchased, but it took the seller about 6 weeks to MAIL the product. ( It made the international mail time of 10 days seem like a minute. )
I have the idea that feedback is for the benefit of potential buyers and felt it only fair to alert buyers of my experience. Because I like what I bought---and paid immediately with Paypal--- but had to wait several weeks to receive it, I thought a "neutral" rating was fair to give. But I made the seller unhappy and she gave me a "negative" rating in return. Unless we kiss and make up, I get to keep my 91% rating.
I read through the etsy policies and it states a buyer should give the seller a reasonable amount of time to ship a product. I'm not sure what that amount of time is, but regardless of any circumstances (or noted possible time delays in store policies), I think 6 weeks is way more than reasonable unless it's a custom/alchemy item. Should etsy make a statement about what is reasonable?

Contact Etsy if you feel it was retaliatory. If they agree, they'll remove the negative.

If a product is in stock, I'd say 72 hours is more than reasonable.
Six weeks? Unacceptable! I'd have filed a Paypal claim at 30 days of no shipping.

It looks much, much worse on them than on you, especially as it looks like retaliation. Contact admin.

feedback is for both buyers and sellers. I have no problems with leaving an abusive buyer nut. or neg. feedback in order to warn other sellers.

I'd say a week, unless they specify a certain amount of time. I always ship within a week, and I say so in my policies.
I look at both sides of the feedback when I determine if I want to ship to/buy from a person. I certainly wouldn't hold your neg against you.

I'd say a week is reasonable for a ready-to-ship item. You might want to double check the listing info and the seller's policies though. Six weeks might be reasonable if the seller had to make the item before sending it.

As a seller, I would not have any issue selling to you after reading the feedback left for you and the seller's shop policies.

I knew exactly who you were talking about before I checked and I was right. It amazes me that people continue to buy from someone with such a lot of negative feedback about the same issue.
Did you check her feedback before you purchased?
