Original Post

There is currently a "shop" that is listing things for sale. Everytime someone comments on the thread, they are put to the top of the category. Ignor it, do not comment. Go ahead and report it. You can read it without commenting. Each comment just gives that "shop" more publicity.

Yeah, I agree. I saw a couple of those in the past couple of days and I don't feel the need to comment on them. After all, usually the original poster never comes back and reads what you say anyway so what's the point? I'm assuming you are talking about the spam threads where they are selling nike etc.

But posting they were reported is just too much fun, even if they don't read it. And this really isn't an idea. :)

If you post that you reported them...you put them back on top of the section they posted in...and it gives them more chances to reach someone who might just buy from them. If you want to report them, go ahead, but don't post that you reported them.

Thank you stichntyme for pointing out this really isn't an idea. Did you report me? Where do you suggest I should have put this comment? Anyone who reports a shop and then brags about it and puts that shop on top is looking for attention for themselves.

Seems to me this is a way to make Etsy better, not to support those sort of posts, but, I could be wrong. That is what they say the Idea Section is for...but of course, I have been wrong in the past and I am sure I will be wrong again in the future.
